John Donohoe

John Donohoe is Founder and Group CEO of Carne Group. John has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry and sits on and chairs the boards of some of the largest and most complex mutual and hedge funds. He also provides clients and industry peers with considerable expertise on governance, product development, distribution and regulatory developments. He is a thought leader in the ongoing development of hedge fund governance and oversight, as well as the digitisation of asset management.

John was Managing Director of Deutsche Bank for 12 years, serving as an executive/non-executive director on various Deutsche Bank boards, rising to become CEO of Europe, Asia and offshore. Prior to establishing Carne in 2004, John was a senior vice president of State Street. He qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG, Dublin, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He holds a first-class honours degree in Accounting and Finance from Dublin City University and is a member of multiple industry associations. In 2011 John co-founded Funds Congress, which is now the largest complementary asset management conference in the world. He is recognised as an industry expert and is a regular speaker at international industry conferences.
