GatherRound 2025

GatherRound 2025

Our favourite way to come together.

Now in its fourth year, GatherRound has grown from a bold, little idea into a beloved Carne tradition and a highlight of our calendar.

This year, we returned to Luttrellstown Castle Golf Club, where the weather kept us on our toes. Rain came and went throughout the day, and there was even a rumble of what sounded suspiciously like thunder. But the energy on the course never dipped. Umbrellas were raised and the game carried on with high spirits (and a few soggy scorecards).

The day began with our Fourball Scramble teams heading out for a friendly round of competition. There were impressively close scores, and a few teams seemed to have found just the right mix of strategy, skill, and luck. One group—Des Fullam, Jeffrey Bates, Sheenagh Carroll, and Colin Cunningham managed to sneak ahead by the slimmest of margins. Not far behind, Paul Whelan, Rhodri Lahne, Bobby Hoey, and Eve Finn kept the pressure on, while Patrick O’Brien, Nick Whitfield, John Simmons, and Veronique Bernard rounded out the top finishers.

Later in the afternoon, our beginner’s Welcome to Golf session kicked off with a few words from Luttrellstown pro Peter O’Hagan. From there, participants split into three groups to try their hand at driving, chipping, and putting. The putting competition was a particular highlight, with Enda Phelan, Eimear Loftus, Sinead Colreavy, and Eimear O’Dwyer showing great form and focus to take the win.

But GatherRound has never been just about scores. It’s about the moments between the shots, the laughs, and the stories told over burgers and beers. It’s about beginners feeling brave enough to try, and seasoned players cheering them on. It’s about togetherness, connection, and the culture that makes Carne, Carne.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Luttrellstown Castle for hosting another unforgettable day.

GatherRound will be back in 2026—and we can’t wait to see you there.
