On the night of October 16th people from all over Ireland took part in the annual Shine A Light Night sleep out. Shine A Light Night is an initiative launched in 2015 by Focus Ireland, a non-profit organisation that supports homeless and vulnerable people in the country. Every year business leaders and communities sleep out for one night to raise awareness and money to help Focus Ireland in their fight against homelessness.

At Carne respect and kindness and a focus on our communities are values that are very important to us and we were delighted to be able to take part in this initiative. Thanks to the support and generosity of staff, industry colleagues and our families and friends we managed to raise over €14,000 for Focus Ireland. Our Ireland Country Head, Yvonne Connolly, also took part in the Irish Fund’s sleep out and together they raised a fantastic €66,000.

In total Focus Ireland raised over €1.6 million of much needed funds which will be used to tackle homelessness and to change the lives of thousands of vulnerable people in Ireland.
